MiniTreks Maps for Chelmsford, Mass. (USA)

The Chelmsford trail stewards have worked diligently to create new trails over the past few years, and as of early 2010 they are finishing up adding new numbered posts and kiosks, and have planned on-site map signs. Some of Chelmsford's trails are specifically outfitted for mountain biking (see Russell Mill, for example).

The stewards have supplied me with much of the GPS data here (and some whole maps) and Chelmsford is now feeding the maps back into its GIS system for broader community use. The trail systems are considered mostly finished, and the maps here are up to date, as of February 2010.

Google Earth gives you better tools for measuring the length of a planned hike.

First obtain the software (downloadable for free from www.googleearth.com).

Right click on My Places, pull down add, then network link, and paste the following into the "link" space:

There is also another Google Earth map for Chelmsford which shows all the parcel boundaries for the various conservation areas, along with their abutters. This is a big file - it takes a minute to load but it's pretty sprightly after that. Google Maps won't load this file - too big.
